Summary

Inuyasha is a very successful manga and anime series created and drawn by artist Rumiko Takahashi. Inuyasha was ranked 20th in the top 100 anime series by TV Asahi in 2006 (based on an online poll in Japan). The fact that Inuyasha started out as a Japanese manga and is now a staple of popular American anime should explain a lot of its success. From Inuyasha.

Rumiko Takahashi has won the prestigious Shogakukan Manga Award twice for Rumiko Takahashi’s career, once for her comedy series Boy Meets an Alien in 1981 and the second time for Inuyasha in 2002. Rumiko Takahashi continued the success of her debut series with a blockbuster after another – Maison Ikkoku which aired from 1980 to 1987, Ranma 1/2 from 1987 to 1996 and Inuyasha from 1996 to 2008. Her comedy series about boys meeting aliens was adapted into an anime format and spawned a television series and half a dozen theatrical productions. – the release of films, each of which is incredibly popular in itself.

The series begins with Kagome Higurashi, a 15-year-old high school student from present-day Tokyo, who is transported to the Sengoku period after falling into a well at her family temple, where she meets the half-dog, half-human demon Inuyasha.
